With the Blessed Virgin Mary Towards
the Sixteeth Ordinary Synod of Bishops
Mary, the mother if God, is always with us on the synodal path, for she is also 'Mother of the Church' (Mater Ecclesiae); mother os all those who are companions and deciples of her son. Whenever we are feeling lost, confused, or hesitant about the way, we only have to look to her point out the way. Mary does not speak. She does not need to. She only needs to direct our gaze to her son. In her wordless gesture, she sums up the whole mission of the church. Even when the People of God are 'in via'-- on the journey-- they are always in mission. The two cannot be separated, for there is but one way and one object of our desire, one source of our Life and our hope; Jesus Christ. Through the General Secretariat for the Synod, our Holy Father Pope Francis has asked al Dioceses throughout the world to observe a "World Day of Prayer for the Sixteeth Ordinary Synod of Bishops 2021-2024," on the Feast of the the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, entrusting the Synod on Synodality" to loving protection, care and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH (Pope Francis)
Mother, help our faith! Open our ears to hear God's word and to recognize his voice and call. Awaken in us a desire to follow in his footsteps, to go forth from our own land and to recieve his promise. Help us to be touched by his love, that we my touch him in faith. Help us to entrust ourselves fully to him and to believe in his love, especially at times of trial, beneath the shadow of the cross, when our faith is called to mature. Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One. Remind us that those who believe are never alone. Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus, that he may be light for our path. And may this light of faith always increase in us, until the dawn of that undying day, which is Christ himself, your Son, our Lord! Amen.
PRAYER FOR THE SIXTEETH ORDINARY SYNOD OF BISHOPS
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts.
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way truth and what is right. All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
O Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church, pray for us.
O Mary, Queen of the Assumption, pray for us!

Con la Santísima Virgen María hacia
XVI Sínodo Ordinario de los Obispos
María, la madre de Dios, está siempre con nosotros en el camino sinodal, porque también ella es 'Madre de la Iglesi' (Mater Ecclesiae); madre de todos los que son compañeros y discípulos de su Hijo. Cuando nos sentimos perdidos, confusos o indecisos sobre el camino, sólo tenemos que mirarla para que nos indique el camino. María no habla. No lo necesita. Le basta con drigir nuestra mirada hacia su Hijo. En su gesto sin palabras, resume toda la misión de la iglesia. Incluso cuando el Pueblo de Dios está 'in via'--en camino-- está siempre en misión. Las dos cosas no pueden separarse, porque sólo hay un camino y un objeto de nuestro deseo, una fuente de nuestra esperanza: Jesucristo. A través de la Secretaría General del Sínodo, nuestro Santo Padre el Papa Francisco ha pedido a todas la Diócesis del mundo que celebren una "Jornada Mundial de Oración por el XVI Sínodo Ordinario de los Obispos 2021-2024," en la Fiesta de la Visitación de la Bienaventurada Virgen María, el miércoles 31 de mayo de 2023, encomendando el "Sínodo sobre la Sinodalidad" a la protección amorosa, el cuidado y la intercesión de la Bienaventurada Virgen María.
ORACIÓN A MARÍA, MADRE DE LA IGLESIA (Papa Francisco)
Madre, ayuda a nuestra fe! Abre nuestros nuestros oídos para escchar la palabra de Dios y reconocer su voz y su llamada. Despierta en nosotros el deso seguir sus huellas, de slir de nuestra tierra y acoger u promesa. Ayúdanos a dejarnos tocar por su amor, para que podemos tocarlo en la fe. Ayúdanos a confiarnos plenamente a Él y a creeren su amor, especilmente en los momentos de prueb, bajo la sombra de la cruz, cuando nuestra fe está llamada a madurar. Siembra en nuestra fe la alegría del Resucitado. Recuérdanos que quien cree nunca está solo. Enséñanos a ver todas las cosas con los ojos de Jesús, para que Él sea luz en nuestro camino. Y que esta luz de la fe crezca siempre en nosotros, hasta el amanecer de ese día imperecedero, que es Cristo mismo, tu Hijo, nuestro Señor. Amen.
ORACIÓN PARA EL DECIMOSEXTO SÍNODO ORDINARIO DE LOS OBISPOS
Estamos ante Ti, Espíritu Snto, reuniods en Tu nombre.
Guínos Tú solo y haz que te sientas en casa en nuestros corazone.
Enseñanos el camino que debemos seguir y cómo hemos de recorrerlo.
Somos débiles y pecadores; no permitas que fomentos el desorden.
No permitas que la ignorancia nos lleve por el mal camino ni que la parcialidad influya en nuestras acciones.
Haz que encontremos en Ti nuestra unidad para que podamos caminar juntos hacia la vida eterna y no nos desviemos del camino de la verdad y de lo que es justo. Todo esto te lo pedimos a Ti, que actúas en todo lugar y tiempo, en la comunión del Padre y del Hijo, por los siglos de los siglos.
